Privacy and cookie policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026

This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit outdooreer.com (the “Site”). It’s written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, the EU ePrivacy rules on cookies, and US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA).

Who is responsible

The Site is published by Aaron (“we”, “us”), 6800 Westgate BLVD #132-555, Austin TX 78745. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@outdooreer.com.

Summary

  • You can read the whole Site without giving us any personal information.
  • We don’t sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The Site sets no cookies for visitors. We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or identify you.
  • Links to Amazon and other retailers take you to their websites, which collect data under their own policies.

What we collect and why

Data When Purpose Legal basis (GDPR) Kept for
Technical request data: IP address, browser and device type, page requested, referring page, date and time Every visit, in our web host’s server logs Delivering the Site, security, preventing abuse, fixing errors Legitimate interests (running a secure website) Up to 30 days unless needed to investigate an incident
Email address and message content If you email us Replying, handling corrections or requests Legitimate interests; contract or pre-contract steps where relevant Up to 2 years after the conversation ends, unless a longer period is legally required
Aggregated visit statistics via Cloudflare Web Analytics: page viewed, referring site, country, device and browser type, page load times. No cookies, no local storage and no identifier that follows you across visits or sites Every visit to the live Site (not for logged-in editors) Counting visits and seeing which pages are useful Legitimate interests (understanding how the Site is used, without identifying anyone) Shown to us only as aggregated statistics, as retained by Cloudflare

We don’t knowingly collect special-category data (such as health information), and we ask you not to send it.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site doesn’t set any cookies for visitors, and it doesn’t use local storage or similar technologies to track you.

Cookie Set by Type Purpose Duration
wordpress_*, wp-settings-* outdooreer.com Strictly necessary Only for site administrators who log in Session to 1 year

Analytics without cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc. A small script reports which page was viewed, the referring site, and technical details such as browser type and page load time. Cloudflare says it doesn’t use cookies or local storage for this and doesn’t track visitors across sites; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Because nothing is stored on your device, there’s no cookie banner. Logged-in site editors aren’t counted. If you block the script (for example with a content blocker), the Site works exactly the same.

If this changes. If we ever add a tool that stores information on your device, such as analytics cookies, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent before it runs.

Retailer cookies. When you click a link to Amazon or another retailer, you leave our Site. That retailer may set cookies and record the visit, including to credit us with a referral if you buy something. Those cookies are set on the retailer’s own website under its own privacy and cookie policy; we don’t receive your name, contact details or what you bought. See Amazon’s Privacy Notice and Cookies Notice.

Embedded videos

Some product pages show a video published by the product’s manufacturer on YouTube. Until you press Play, the page shows only a placeholder and makes no connection to YouTube or Google. When you press Play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. From that point YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies or use similar storage on your device, under Google’s privacy policy. Pressing Play is your choice for that video; if you’d rather not, use the link to watch it on YouTube instead, or skip it.

Affiliate links

Outdooreer participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon reports referred sales to us in aggregate (for example, the number and value of items sold) without identifying you. See the affiliate disclosure.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with:

  • Our hosting provider, Hostinger, which stores the Site and its server logs on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
  • Cloudflare, as our analytics provider, which processes visit statistics on our behalf under its data processing terms.
  • YouTube (Google) receives data directly only if you press Play on an embedded video (see Embedded videos).
  • Our email provider, if you write to us.
  • Authorities or advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Cloudflare and Google (YouTube), may process data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area or the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (where the provider is certified), the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Security

We use HTTPS, keep WordPress and its components updated, limit administrator access and keep server logs only as long as described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your rights

EU, EEA and UK. You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

California and other US states. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, access it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale or sharing or its use for targeted advertising. We don’t sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

How to make a request. Email hello@outdooreer.com. We’ll respond within one month (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA), and may need to confirm your identity first. You can use an authorized agent where your local law allows.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal data you’ve already given us, we’ll take reasonable steps to tell you.
